Ayurveda teaches us that twice a year our systems need a gentle reset. In the Spring, we spend a week or so shifting to an easily digestible diet to help clear out the accumulations of Winter. This accumulation is the result of the excess we take in throughout the holidays and the winter season, and it weighs us down. It’s known as “Ama” in Ayurveda, and by giving your system a break in the spring it’s more able to clean out the Ama from your body, mind, and emotions.
